The Kenosha Montessori School strives to cultivate and honor children’s innate love of
learning as they prepare for a life of purpose, integrity, and academic accomplishment. KMS adheres to the Montessori philosophy of educating the “whole child”, through the use of self-directed instruction and self-correcting materials. We aim to give the students the skills and confidence to meet the challenges of self, family, community, and the world at large.
The Basic Goals of K.M.S. include:
- To open the possibilities for joyful learning and to foster self-motivation and personal competence.
- To develop a free and inquiring mind in all areas of interest.
- To cultivate the child’s sense of beauty.
- To assist in integrated growth.
- To encourage persistent effort in the pursuit of knowledge.
- To give each child, through our respectful treatment of him/her, a belief in his own human dignity and that of others and to help him attain trust in the worth of his own work and words.
